Restoring Hope

Apryle Showers is dedicated to helping individuals with a cancer diagnosis between the ages 30-55 who are currently undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. We offer services that help foster nourishment, healing, restoration, and peace to people during their treatment journey who reside in the five-county area of the First Coast, including Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Nassau and Baker counties. Our services include destination retreats for the families affected by cancer.

Recovery Retreats

Apryle Showers is a Florida nonprofit 501(c)(3) founded in 2015 by Apryle Schmidt. Apryle, a cancer patient herself, recognized the personal struggles of the treatment journey (read more about Apryle’s story here). Apryle knew that patients often spend months or years in and out of the hospital, a chemo chair, or confined to their bed at home. Your appearance changes, your life changes, and often you can no longer do the things that once brought you joy. This can lead to depression and fear as well as loss of confidence, especially if your appearance changes suddenly from hair loss, weight change, or surgical scars. For those with children at home, your stress is often compounded by your efforts to protect your children. For those who do not have children or are empty nesters, you may struggle with loneliness or isolation. Regardless of your status in life, if you are fighting cancer, you are not alone. Apryle Showers wants to shower you and your family with love during your journey.

Our organization is made up of cancer survivors, supporters and loving donors. Our goal is to give respite to patients so that you may find peace and restoration during your treatment…when you need it most. We offer a tranquil place for you to spend time with yourself and family or friends to restore your body, mind and soul. This recovery getaway may be found in the calm by the sea or other waterfront property. We also seek to try and meet the material and emotional needs of patients by talking with each beneficiary about their personal needs and circumstances. If you or someone you know is undergoing cancer treatment and lives in the greater Jacksonville area, please fill out our contact form and an ambassador from our organization will be happy to reach out to you.
